Madonna – Hollywood (Video)

Video Rating: 4 / 5

“Guy Bourdin was fascinated by surface and artifice, particularly with
regard to the glamour and allure of Hollywood. And nobody – at least in the
world of pop – understands this better than Madonna. I love this video as
well as the song which someone on here rightly said was criminally
underrated. The song and video are utterly compelling and alluring while
simultaneously serving as a “great warning”. Genius.”

I agree Cecily Macnamara. This video is genius. Many don’t understand the
deeper political and social message in this Gorgeous video. Here Madonna
exposes the façade behind the glitter and glamour. People think
she promotes it, while in fact it is the opposite. She criticizes Hollywood.

Madonna may not have an operatic voice, but she has one of the prettiest as
well as most versatile voices in the music. She is gorgeous and part of her
gorgeousness has to do with her personality. She has a strong character
which comes handy in photo shoots and short films, but can be too
overwhelming in long form films especially in films where the characters
that she has to play are too subtle. I mean how can one fit Queen of
Universe in a subtle role? Madonna’s character is everything but subtle. On
stage she is total fire. She owns it in the palm of her hand. The video
Nothing Really Matters is exactly as it was meant to be( Perfection) albeit
in a different way than this video. The song messages as well as the video
    attitudes are totally different though.

Madonna’s videos have become better while time went by, but I personally
think this is her best one. She looks great and the video actually portrays
the two sides of her quite well: the successful pop star (living for her
image) and the intelligent woman who knows quite well the world she lives
    in.

Everyone has an opinion on Madonna. There’s no denying that she made
brilliant pop songs. And she made it look effortless.

I think if you look behind the glamour of this video, this is very real
warning about the superficial nature of Hollywood

who the hell cares about age here ,,, why people always fuck with the age
of an artist ,, if all we have to do is listen and enjoy music…I really
feel so sorry for the grandmothers,, grandfathers or fathers and mothers
of that people who criticize ,,because if they think that for being over
40 a person is object of bullying or simply not work for society ,, all
them have the same thoughts about elder people in their family ,,,,,, so
grandfathers and mothers ,, mothers and father be careful of what you got
for sons ,, maybe they simple don’t care about you because their young now
,, let see in30 years ahead if they still alive …
